HELP…Adult Help Needed for YOUTH @ Sandy Mount UMC!!!
Do you want to be of service for Christ? Do you remember a Youth Leader, Sunday school teacher, Pastor, or School teacher that made a positive impact on your life? Do you have a calling or interest in volunteering with Middle or High school youth?
Come be a part of our Youth Ministry Adult Leadership Team @ Sandy Mount UMC. We are currently looking for adult leaders for events, bible studies, umyf nights, youth worship, confirmation, field trips,etc. Or if you can’t serve directly with youth… would you like to work behind the scenes, donate supplies, food, gift certificates etc. Contact Susan for a list of needs for MYF functions.  Jr. UMYF Meetings

Jr. United Methodist Youth Fellowship is for youth in grades 6th-8th.Meetings are held usually on a Sunday evening and they include; Lessons, Games, Food, & Crafts!

Seeking youth who are interested in creating, preparing, and leading a Youth led service for Fall 2011 & Spring 2012.

All YOUTH are invited to attend in grades 6-12 th to share their ideas. Please come prepared with your updates.
A representative is needed from each grade. Youth please sit at the table and leave the comfy sofas for the adults.

Youth Council Officers Job Descriptions/ Responsibilities:
 
President: Attend Church Council and Youth Council meetings, Prepare agenda for YC meetings, Communicate with church staff and leaders, Lead meetings, and Set spiritual tone.
 
Vice President: Coordinate and communicate with 5- 12th grade reps., Attend Church council and Youth Council meetings, President’s backup, be able to run YC meetings, Set spiritual tone.
 
Secretary: Take minutes @ Youth council meetings, Type minutes, Send minutes to Council members, Youth Director, Youth Leaders and Pastor.
 
Treasurer: Coordinate with YC, Youth group, Outreach committee, and Stewardship committee. Assist with special fundraising projects when needed. Encourage and contact youth for youth events. Assist with keeping records of fundraising accountability forms.
 
Historian: Take photos/ video @ youth events, assist in creating power points, create photo albums, and Work with web master, write about youth events for newsletter, Editor of Youth newsletter.
 
Web Master: Keep web page up to date and current with appearance or technology, communicate with youth director and youth leaders for info. attend youth council meetings, attend church council meetings when needed.
 
Committee Representatives from 6-12th grade:
Encourage youth to attend youth events, youth group, bible studies, etc. Suggest ideas for the youth program @ Sandy Mount UMC. Attend meetings.
 
General Youth Council Responsibilities:
Have a willingness to serve; Desire to help the youth program succeed;
Have excitement about the possibilities; Have a sense of adventure and creativity and understand the youth culture.
Be a youth ministry advocate within the congregation;
Listen to the needs of youth and other members of the congregation;
Act as a sounding board for problems within the youth program or in relation to the rest of the congregation;
Seek opportunities to be involved in other areas of the church life.
Attend one meeting per month,
Serve to fulfill the vision and goals of the youth council & church;
Listen to the needs of the youth program;
Go through proper church channels to implement new procedures, policies, or programs;
Help evaluate the success of the specific programs and suggest changes when needed and
Serve on the Youth Council for one year term from June – May.
