New Grow Hour Class Forming
“Jesus Changes Women” examines the various elements of spiritual growth and helps women discover how to grow strong in their faith. By looking at the lives of biblical women such as Deborah, Mary, Hannah, this Bible study teaches women how to root themselves in God's love, nourish their faith with Scripture, and enjoy fellowship. The class will begin on January 8, 2012, led by Robyn Gilden. Please sign up on the Grow Hour bulletin board. Lead Visual Media Minister Needed Effective Jan 1, 2012, SMUMC needs a lead visual media minister. GREETERS AND USHERS NEEDED FOR THE TRADITIONAL SERVICE:
We are currently in the process of asking our members if they would consider volunteering to be greeters and ushers for our traditional service during the remainder of the 2011 season and into the beginning of 2012. So far the response has been incredible. However, we still have openings for both December and January. If I have not contacted you and you are interested, please get in touch with me for more information. My phone number is 410.848.1359. Thank You, Doug Manger.
Nursery Volunteers Needed for 2011 - We are still in need of volunteers for the nursery during the praise service at 9 AM on Sundays. This is a vital ministry of SM. We have a paid staff person in charge (Sarah Callender) but there must be another adult (male or female) present with her in order to be Safe Sanctuary compliant. It is our hope that every adult will see this as an opportunity for service and will sign up to help.
The more people we have to sign up, the fewer Sundays each person will need to serve. Please prayerfully consider volunteering a Sunday or two. There are volunteer forms in the narthex or you may let one of the following know: Doug Brooks (runold@hotmail.com), Michele Scobie (mlscobie@verizon.net) or Joyce Yanke jayanke@hotmail.com) and you will be contacted. Each volunteer must be Safe Sanctuary trained, but anyone needing the training will be able to receive that prior to service.
REMINDER: If you need transportation, the Care Cars ministry is ready and willing to provide it! We will take you to medical appointments, church and church activities, and other needs. Please call Scarlett Fisher
410-861-8806 to arrange your ride. Drivers are needed! There is no charge for this service.
