Westminster Rescue Mission
Mission Statement
The Westminster Rescue Mission exists to advance the Kingdom of God by proclaiming God’s Word and by partnering with local churches, businesses, social service organizations, caring supporters and volunteers in order to provide ministries of relief, rescue and other services for individuals and families in need.
Every May our church collects clothes, shoes, and accessories to donate to the Mission. They will then be sold at the Mission Store to benefit the work that is done at WRM.
Our Church has been holding collections since 2015

Prayer Box
We are reaching out to our neighborhood with our prayer box. The box is located close to the road in front of our church. Although it is used sporadically the prayer requests put in the box are powerful and important.
Our Prayer Box has been available since June 2017
Global Missions
Missionary- Our Church contributes $2500 a year to help support our Missionary, Dr. Belinda Forbes

Compassion International- Our Church sponsors a young man, Barato Gosawa, from Indonesia.
Our Church has been supporting Compassion International/Barato since July 2015
Holiday Bazaar
It may seem strange to have our biggest fundraiser listed as an Outreach ministry, but we consider it an opportunity for the community to be involved with our church. Since 2008, the Holiday Bazaar has tithed 10% of our annual profits to a local charity. We look for charities that are in the Westminster area, and that are not already supported by one of Sandy Mount’s other ministries. To date we have donated $11,098. The beneficiaries so far have been-
Meals on Wheels
New Life for Girls
Dove House
Access Carroll
Westminster Rescue Mission
On Our Own
Dad’s Works
The Literacy Council of Carroll County
Men of Standard Ministry
Rising Above Addiction
VIP Project
Sandymount Elementary School
Thanksgiving- Our church donates Thanksgiving dinner to 3 families with children at Sandymount Elementary School
Christmas- Our Church donates a generous number of gifts for 3 families with children at Sandymount Elementary School.
We also help with any clothing requests throughout the year. Our Church has been supporting the school since 2013.
SERRV
SERRV International is a nonprofit dedicated to fighting global poverty through fair and ethical trade. The SEERV warehouse is located in New Windsor.
Our Church sends a group to SEERV on an as needed basis.
Christmas Outreach/Giving Tree
Our Church sets up a Christmas tree full of paper ornaments all representing an opportunity to give. There are tags representing Salvation Army Angels, Safe Haven Shelter, and designated Youth Outreach project. We put everything in one place so that people can choose where they want to give and not feel that they must give to everything.
Blessing of the Bikers
Spring of 2019 our Church held the first Blessing of the Bikers event. Pastor Kathy reached out to her contact at BACA (Bikers against Child Abuse) to promote this event. We will continue to try to grow this ministry.
Over the years our Outreach Committee has done several one-and-done projects. Recently we collected bath towels and toiletries for Carroll County Recovery Support Services https://www.rehabcenter.net/rehab-centers/maryland-rehab-centers/sykesville/carroll-county-recovery-support-services-program, and baby items for Tender Care Pregnancy Center https://tendercare.org/.
